I designed the Balance Resource Cards as a gift. A gift to myself and a gift for my family, friends and clients. Hopefully you will purchase a set for yourself and discover they are a gift of health and wellness that you can give yourself. These cards are full of tips and resources that can help all of us become healthier. They are my favorite wellness and self care tips that I've collected over the years. Think of them as my top 60+ tips for healthy living. I have been using these resource cards regularly to become healthier and balanced in my own life. I'm giving myself the gift of health because I deserve it.
Buying the Balance Resource Cards is just the beginning of an investment in yourself. An even harder investment is the time it takes to follow through with using the cards on a regular basis. Some people are very disciplined and can stick with a regular exercise or wellness routine. However, if you are like most people, life gets in the way of our routines and we eventually let habits slip. I certainly need variety in my life to keep things fresh and new, so I discovered the cards keep me engaged in doing something every day for my health while allowing me the freedom to choose different things if I get bored. It becomes a spiritual practice.
Surprise yourself by pulling a card from the deck and do what it suggests. If it feels like too big of a task, start with a smaller step as a way to move towards the final goal.
Take out the cards and hold them in your hand. What do you notice? The word "balance" should remind you that these cards can bring your mind, body and spirit into balance if used regularly. I notice the cards fit comfortably in my hands with the comfortable size and the rounded corners. Feel the texture of the cards. Doesn't that paper feel nice to the touch? I love the thickness and smoothness of this particular paper. It feels good to hold these cards in my hand. They slide smoothly as I shuffle through them. The top card of the deck even has a place for your name! "This belongs to _____." Make an intentional choice to claim these cards for yourself and write your name on the cards.
Notice that the cards are very simple. Each card starts with a sentence that introduces the topic of the card and explains why that topic is important for your health. It then gives a brief description of what to do. There are more details for each card on the website including some additional links and videos, but the brief explanation will be enough for you to remember what the topic is about and follow through with what it tells you. Sort through the decks. Do any cards catch your attention? Pull those out and read more about them online and plan to do what it says sometime in the next day or two. Are there cards that you are already doing in a regular routine? Pull those out too, and give yourself a pat on the back. We often do things for our health but forget to recognize those accomplishments.
Now look at the last card in the deck. It is an affirmation card. You can give yourself permission to balance your mind, body and spirit. Place this card where you see it regularly as a reminder to use the cards. Giving yourself a gift of these balance cards, and choosing to use them regularly, is an investment in yourself. It means you love yourself enough to gift yourself the gift of health. Blessings as you balance your mind, body and spirit.
