When you set intentions or goals, and are able to name out loud the things that you desire, amazing things happen.
Throughout our marriage, my husband and I have set one, five and ten year goals. All of the one year goals seem to be accomplished in about 6 months. Many of the five and ten year goals are accomplished much earlier than expected. Naming what we want to accomplish helps focus our mind and actions on the things we desire.
“Set intentions to focus your mind and manifest the things you deeply desire in your life. Your brain unconsciously influences your choices and guides your decisions when you write or speak these goals regularly. “
It’s not as important how or why this works. If you are willing speak out loud what you desire or intend to do, and identify some small steps to move towards that bigger goal, then you have a good chance of reaching those intentions. It’s important to write down your goals and intentions and post them where you see them regularly. This helps you remain focused on those goals. When I name the things I deeply desire to achieve and see it on a daily basis, I usually reach those milestones.
The New Year is often a time of setting new goals and intentions. A fresh new calendar symbolizes a new start of the year and a chance to begin again. Even if you didn’t set an intention for the year on January 1st, you can still set goals and intentions. You can start anytime you want, even 15 days into the year, or 3 months into the year. The important thing is that you start somewhere.
Consider setting a personal goal or an intention for this year. Perhaps you will also choose a word or phrase to focus on for this year. I’ve been using Ali Edward’s One Little Word and Suzanne Conway’s Find Your Word to help discover my word for the year. I think my word finally found me. It will help me stay focused and reach my goals for the year.
Check my blog next week to discover what word I chose for 2015. I'd love to hear what goals or word you chose for the year.
