This card is about choosing clothing that looks good on you, so that you feel good about yourself. It means I spend less time trying on multiple outfits when I'm in a rush. If I look good on the outside, it helps me feel good on the inside. How many times have you gone to the closet, and tried on several different outfits, before finding something that fit well or looked good? I spend too much time trying on several tops until I find the one that I want to wear for the day. Instead of putting those other tops back in the closet, I filled a box with donations for Goodwill, and brought out the winter clothes that were stored in bins in another room.
A few days later, I returned to the closet and finished the task. I now have room in my closet for both my winter and summer clothing! This morning when I went to the closet, it felt great to know that everything fit well. It felt good to simplify my clothing choices. Now I need to do the same with my dresser drawers. How many unmatched pairs of socks does one keep, in hopes of finding a mate? Maybe I should join the new trend and just wear the mismatched socks! I will keep the card on my dresser to remind me that this is the next challenge to tackle.
This was a great challenge card to draw from the Balance Resource Card deck. I combined it with the "simplify" card without even realizing it. My goal was to keep the clothes I love/use regularly, eliminate the things I no longer wear/like and enjoy the spaciousness and simplicity of the closet. I really didn't need all that clothing stuffed into my closet.
Is it time to simplify your closet and dress for success? Do you have clothing that you can donate or give away to someone else? Does everything in your closet fit well and look great with colors that are your favorites? Consider organizing your clothing this week. Feel good about donating, simplifying and dressing for success.
